The final weekend of September delivered a dynamic mix of new entries and resilient holdovers at the UK box office, with several titles making notable debuts and others continuing to show strong legs deep into their runs.


Top Performers

1. One Battle After Another – £2,471,784

The war drama stormed into first place with a commanding £2,471,784 from 649 screens, marking the 24th highest opening of the year, just behind Karate Kid: Legends. A strong start for a film with awards buzz and broad appeal.

 

2. Hamilton (10th Anniversary) – £1,769,826

Lin-Manuel Miranda’s cultural juggernaut made its cinematic anniversary debut with £1,769,826 across 710 screens, securing its place as the 30th widest release in UK box office history. The event-style rollout drew fans and newcomers alike.

 

3. Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale – £1,294,900

Despite a 43% drop, the period drama held firm in its third week, bringing its total to £13,416,773. It now ranks as the 16th highest-grossing film of the year, just behind The Bad Guys 2.


Noteworthy New Entries
  • The Strangers: Chapter 2 – £331,535

    A solid horror debut on 425 screens, continuing the franchise’s eerie legacy.


  • They Call Him OG – £324,500

    Dreamz Entertainment’s gritty drama includes £240,548 from 158 previews, making its official weekend tally a modest but promising £83,952. With only 137 screens, it’s a strong per-screen performer.


  • Spider-Man 2.1 (Re: 2025) – £97,993

    The remastered edition of the superhero classic swung into cinemas with a niche but loyal turnout.


  • Dead Of Winter – £83,577

    A chilling new thriller that quietly crept into the top 15 with a limited release.

    Now in its fifth week, the romantic drama has amassed £9,232,098.


  • Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba Infinity Castle – £322,370

    A sharp 64% drop, but its total of £6,246,424 remains strong for an anime release.


  • The Bad Guys 2 – £234,508

    A rare 1% uptick in its tenth week, lifting its total to £13,528,980. A true crowd-pleaser with staying power.


  • Inter Alia – NT Live 2025 – £101,001

    Theatre continues to draw niche audiences, now at £1,767,776 after five weeks.
