Ones to watch next week

A broad slate arrives next week, but the market will be defined by one title above all others. The Super Mario Galaxy Movie opens on Wednesday and is expected to dominate the frame outright. The original Super Mario Bros. Movie launched to £15,691,810 back in 2023, and while the landscape has shifted since then, the brand’s reach remains unmatched. The midweek start should give it a commanding lead heading into the weekend

The Magic Faraway Tree added fresh energy to the top of the chart, while a mix of niche debuts and event programming filled out the lower ranks. Next weekend’s arrival of The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is set to deliver a major uplift, supported by a varied slate across multiplexes and event cinema venues.
