Weekend roundup

The chart eased into a quieter frame, with the top fifteen combining for £13,171,842. That is a 21 percent decline from last weekend and places this as the 21st best weekend of the year. Even with the softer market, several new releases added fresh movement while major holdovers continued to build notable all time placements.

Spider Man: Brand New Day: £3,605,192; 738 screens; Week 4; down 41 percent. Its total has climbed to £87,211,746, lifting it into the all time top ten at number nine, just behind Avengers: Endgame. On the adjusted chart it now sits in 42nd place behind Quantum of Solace. A finish just over £100 million remains firmly in sight.

The Odyssey: £2,776,010; 681 screens; Week 6; down 26 percent. Another strong hold for one of the year’s most consistent performers. Its £75,002,170 total places it as the 14th highest grossing film ever, just behind The Lion King from 2019, and 63rd adjusted behind Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith. A final total near £85 million now appears likely.

Insidious: Out Of The Further: £2,198,329; 526 screens; Week 1. A solid debut that lands as the 25th best opening of the year and the second strongest start in the franchise behind Insidious: The Red Door’s £2,279,084 in 2023. That film reached £8 million, giving this new entry a clear benchmark.

The End Of Oak Street: £929,718; 672 screens; Week 2; down 56 percent. Its £4,617,733 total places it as the 26th top grosser of the year, currently behind Masters Of The Universe. A finish around £7.5 million remains the most realistic outcome.

Spa Weekend: £493,877; 478 screens; Week 1. A compact but respectable opening for a title aimed at niche adult audiences. 62nd top opening of the year.

Bethlehem Kudumba Unit: £438,659; 156 screens; Week 1. A strong regional debut that continues the year’s pattern of targeted releases finding reliable turnout.

Mutiny: £372,813; 370 screens; Week 1. A mid level launch that should play steadily across select venues.

Toy Story 5: £378,769; 586 screens; Week 10; down 28 percent. With £56,384,987 to date, it now ranks as the 39th highest grossing film ever, just behind A Minecraft Movie, and 136th adjusted behind last year’s Minecraft. It remains the third highest grossing entry in the franchise and will hold that position through the end of its run.

Tony: £341,334; 356 screens; Week 2; down 15 percent. Total now £1,009,387.

Teenage Sex And Death At Camp Miasma: £329,829; 176 screens; Week 1. A cult leaning genre debut that should play strongest in late evening slots.

Minions and Monsters: £305,114; 565 screens; Week 8; down 25 percent. Total now £18,159,788.

Moana: £238,714; 492 screens; Week 7; down 28 percent. Total now £13,483,772.

Khalifa: £160,261; 185 screens; Week 1.

KATSEYE: WILD HEARTS: £127,465; 140 screens; Week 2; down 82 percent. Total now £853,972.

Final take

A £13.2 million frame reflects a softer market but still delivers meaningful movement across the chart. Spider Man: Brand New Day and The Odyssey continue to anchor the year with heavyweight totals, while Insidious: Out Of The Further provides a solid new entry and several niche releases find their audiences. Next weekend’s slate is unusually broad, with The Dog Stars positioned as the most commercially significant newcomer and a mix of anniversaries, reissues and concert events adding further depth across the country.
